Nestled in a tiny strip mall, if you blink you'll miss it. My in-laws have been coming here for years and it's one of their favorite spots. So many options for delicious fresh fish.. it's always busy because the food is amazing. But it's definitely worth the wait. Our server was wonderful.. All but one of us enjoyed our food. My youngest daughter is gluten-free and she got the gluten-free buttery noodles. There was hardly any butter on them and no seasoning but even after we got more butter and she put a little salt and pepper on it, they were still very bland. Everything else was exceptional though. We will definitely be back .
My original lunch review was just the tip of the iceberg, my husband and I have been coming to this place ever since that first review, once a week now for dinner & as far as local fish and fabulous food goes- Captain Charlie's can not be beat! We have tried a myriad of their dishes from delightful, flavorful, perfectly cooked burgers to all the fish delicacies, shrimp pot, tortizza and hubby's favorite the tomato fennel mahi over mashed potatoes! Service is always spot on and friendly and the food will always blow your socks off. If you haven't tried this local spot- you are missing out! Save room for dessert- all are home made and you'll be glad you did!
Our go to restaurant for seafood . Being a Florida native fresh seafood is a must . Captain Charlie's never disappoints . Nice comfortable atmosphere with great staff ! Last night we shared the tortizza and paella . Oh my fantastic !! We will be back very soon.
I was in west palm for a week and got tired of food on resort so I came here. I started with the escargot it was pretty good but could have been seasoned more. I had a glass of rose that was really good. My boyfriend got the conch soup it was okay to me but he thought it was good. He ordered the yellowtail it was really good and fresh and I got the whole fried snapper with salad and fries instead of plantains. The snapper was crispy but could have used more seasoning as well. The star or the show was the dessert! We ordered the banana coconut rum cake with the blueberry Oreo ice cream and it was really really good! the service was really good was well
Food was unbelievable I had tuna, clams mashed potatoes with chorizo sauce, it was to die for. My husband had it too. Octopus was cook perfection with Greek salad. Berry brûlée not sweet at, all love it. Banana bread cake good. Homemade cinnamon ice cream heavenly Service was fast. But rice and beans over rice was cold Ambiance very cute with personal photos like all key westerns
Rockpus octopus with potatoes and paprika roasted to perfection, crusted grouper cheeks with a splash of fresh lemons ... oh man im getting hungry again .. then fried oysters with lemon and cajun tartar sauce. Stack that all up with a nice bottle of Savon Blanc (Detail) and you have a perfect dinner . But then Vince our waiter suggested desert . Coconut Banana Rum cake topped with a scoop of sea salt Carmel ice cream , whipped cream and chocolate sauce . Wow that was a great desert . It's alway a great atmosphere, the staff is wonderful and of course the food is fantastic. You can go wrong having a meal there . We tend to go a bit early 5:30 as we never have to wait for a table . But they do fill up quickly after 6 pm . Enjoy
34 years and only 700something reviews, that tracks with the average age in here. I moved away from Florida 20something years ago and it seems like this is the only thing around here that hasn't changed. Yes the menu still reads like 1989, but it works. Simple classics and although the prices are higher than 1989, not as much higher as you'd think. This place is VERY old Florida, and not just the guests. Across the parking lot from a bait shop in a weird triangle where the beach road breaks off this a great place for a nice lunch or laid back dinner. The seafood is just okay, but the simplicity makes that all okay. There are burgers and such on the menu and the pastas are all overcooked, but that is the clientele and the vibe. If somehow you haven't been dragged here by your aging parents (I assume if you are reading yelp reviews you are probably less than 100 years old) it is a great little spot to come out before a day on Juno's expansive beach.
Saturday, August 24, 2024 Captain Charlie's (The lunch spot a few doors down from the dinner Captain Charlies's. Not the one on the corner.) Food: 4 stars. My hubs and I both had the shrimp burgers. Freshy-fresh. $10.00! Their fries were just ehhh. Curly. But we suspected frozen. Not seasoned. Next time we'll order a different side. We both wanted to like the slaw, but it was not seasoned either. It was all about the shrimp burger. Tasty. Good size. Burger is $10.00 too. Service: 5 stars. Betty was sweet and fast. Ambiance: 5 stars. Perfect little lunch place near the beach. Narrow space. Long bar with stools. Maybe 10 tables of four. If someone has a walker, roll-a-tor or has visual issues as it is a little dark and tight, it could be a challenge. But I'm sure the staff would be accommodating. Value: 5 stars. Lunch price was perfect! We'll be back.
Our server was amazing! The food came out quickly. And everything tasted yummy. We would not order the escargot again but everything was a yes! Anytime there was a finished dish someone came by to pick it up/ lots of help!
We went about an hour before closing, and everyone was really nice. Service was great but not too intrusive. Highly recommend the Tuna Spring Roll & the seafood Alfredo. I eat dairy free and was a little concerned I wouldn't find anything but there were so many options to choose from! I would highly recommend going!
